Members of At The Drive-In, Mastodon & Queens of the Stone Age Form ‘Gone Is Gone’ Supergroup

This is a big announcement for three big bands – members of At the Drive-In, Mastodon, and Queens of the Stone Age are forming a band together to make our ears happier than ever.

The experimental supergroup will go by Gone is Gone, and feature Mastodon singer/bassist Troy Sanders, Queens of the Stone Age guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen, At The Drive-In drummer Tony Hajjar and keyboardist/guitarist Mike Zarin.

According to Rolling Stone Hajjar and Zarin have worked together since 2009, on scores for movie trailers and video games such as Splinter Cell: Blacklist. Hajjar told Rolling Stone:

“Gone is Gone is a project that can live even when we are working with our other entities as well. The goal is to be able to compose remotely, if needed, on film, trailers, or on anything else that comes up … It feels good to know that all this music will see the light of day soon.”

Gone is Gone will release an EP in the summer with the lead single “Violescent” which you can preview above. Judging from the band members and this preview, they’re sure to be nothing less than heavy.
