Metallica have just announced that they’ll be playing a special performance called S&M² in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their legendary S&M album.
For the performance, they’ll be reuniting with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra who accompanied Metallica on their live album and DVD. Additionally, the concert will be part of the new Chase Center grand opening, which will also serve as the new home of NBA’s Golden State Warriors.
“Please join us for this one-night-only show as we celebrate the addition of what is sure to become a cultural landmark in the Bay Area,” Metallica explains in a statement. “We’re thrilled to be invited to be a part of it and humbled to be sharing the stage with the legendary MTT and the city’s finest musicians in the San Francisco Symphony.”
S&M² is set to take place on September 6th, 2019, and you can find more details on tickets here.
The original S&M album, which was composed by Michael Kamen, was partially created as a tribute to the band’s late bassist Cliff Burton, due to his passion for classical music.
