Canadian rockers Metric are back with their highly anticipated new album Formentera. Alongside the record, they’ve shared a video for “False Dichotomy.”
Their eighth studio album, Formentera, is named after an island near Ibiza, which was a “dream destination” for the band. “We came to this realization that it wasn’t even about an actual place anymore, it was about creating an escape for yourself in your mind because you’re powerless over so many things,” Haines explains.
Directed by Justin Broadbent, the video for “False Dichotomy” comes packed with picturesque layered shots of frontwoman Emily Haines singing beneath a palm tree.
Stream Formentera and watch the video for “False Dichotomy” below.
Formentera features previously released singles “What Feels Like Eternity,” “Doomscroller,” and “All Comes Crashing.”
In honour of Formentera, Metric are headed out on a North American headlining tour. Metric has partnered with PLUS1, which means $1 per ticket will go toward War Child, which empowers children and families in communities affected by war across the globe.
