It looks like Kendrick Lamar has some unreleased music up his sleeves.
The rapper’s label, Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE), posted a photo of their upcoming release schedule on Instagram, that featured “K. Dog” with three question marks beside his name. In brackets they wrote “GET TOP ON THE PHONE.”
TDE boss, Anthony Tiffith, who revealed the schedule also featured updates on Schoolboy Q, SZA, Ab-Soul and Isaiah Rashad.
Lamar is known for surprising audiences with unreleased music during live performances. According to NME, Lamar has explained that he believes television is a great opportunity to expose unreleased music that he didn’t have time to put on To Pimp A Butterfly.
In an interview with 2 Dope Boyz, he explained there are approximately ten songs that didn’t make the cut on his album that he could potentially perform on late night shows.
“I got a chamber of material from the album that I was in love where sample clearances or something as simple as a deadline kept it off the album. But I think probably close to ten songs that I’m in love with that I’ll still play and still perform that didn’t make the cut.”
Hopefully this is truly the case for Kendrick in 2016.
