Jason Monlina, the man behind Songs: Ohia, unfortunately passed away March of last year. Since then there have been a number of tribute albums to commemorate the life and music of Jason.

Graveface Records had an LP in tribute to Jason that features names like the Everly Brothers and Mark Kozelek, and there was also a deluxe 10th anniversary re-issue of the Songs: Ohia classic Magnolia Electric Co.

Monlina’s contributions will be honoured once more with a new tribute album entitled Farewell Transmission: The Music of Jason Molina. The album will be released April 22nd and will include a collection of covers from different artists including My Morning Jacket, Murder By Death and more.
