Netflix acquires the rights to make ‘Beverly Hills Cop 4’

As part of a deal with Paramount

Netflix has acquired the rights from Paramount to make Beverly Hills Cop 4, according to Deadline.

The studio reportedly has been trying to restart the hit series in several different forms, including a television show. Now, Alex Foley will come back to active duty, and the film will still feature Eddie Murphy and producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

The franchise was originally launched by Paramount in 1984, and it saw police officer Foley taking up the investigation of his close friend Mikey Tandino’s murder.
