Netflix continues to trim its Marvel roster after cancelling Iron Fist and Luke Cage last month. The streaming giant has now brought the axe down on Daredevil after three seasons, but it seems that it will have a future in other Marvel projects.

“Marvel’s Daredevil will not return for a fourth season on Netflix,” the streaming service told Deadline in a statement. “We are tremendously proud of the show’s last and final season and although it’s painful for the fans, we feel it best to close this chapter on a high note.”
The news comes just a month after Netflix launched the third season of the series. According to Netflix, even though the series on their service has ended, the Daredevil character will continue to live in future projects for Marvel.

The loss of Daredevil leaves Netflix with only two Marvel series left, Jessica Jones and The Punisher. It appears that the Marvel era on Netflix is ending as Disney draws closer to launching its own streaming service, which will see Loki and Scarlett Witch joining their television show roster.
