Netflix to Suspend Production of ‘House of Cards’ Amid Kevin Spacey Allegations

Possible spinoff without Spacey's character is not out of the question

Netflix has announced that production of House of Cards Season 6 has been suspended “until further notice.” After allegations came forward against Kevin Spacey, Netflix decided to suspend production to allow time to “review the current situation and to address any concerns of our cast and crew.”

It was announced on Monday that Season 6 would be the show’s final season, which began production earlier in the month. Sources suggest that the decision to end the series was made months ago, before the allegations came forward. It was also reported that a House of Cards spinoff is not out of the question, and that writers are working on a storyline that does not involve Kevin Spacey’s character.
