New Friends-Inspired Central Cafe Opens in Toronto

It'll be there for you (when the rain starts to pour)

Get ready to live your dream, F•R•I•E•N•D•S!-lovers. Toronto’s new Central Cafe, originally billed as Central Perk Cafe, is now open.

The cafe was supposed to open two years ago and was cancelled last minute because of a possible copyright issue against Warner Brothers, but it’s finally here! Although it’s not an exact replica of the Central Perk we all know and love, it does have iconic elements from the popular 90s sitcom like the quintessential couch.

The cafe has been getting some hate for not being an exact replica of the set, but it seems to be worth heading over to the Bathurst Street coffee shop to reenact some scenes with your pals or pretend to grab a cup of joe from Gunther. The real question is when will they have open mic nights for people who want to perform their own renditions of “Smelly Cat?”
