North Carolina indie vets, Superchunk, drop their newest album next week. I Hate Music is the follow up to 2010’s Majesty Shredding – the long-awaited comeback (nearly a decade!) from Here’s to Shutting Up in 2001.
According to Superchunk’s website, “I Hate Music is Majesty’s dark twin. It’s similarly aggressive and every bit as energetic. It reflects the joys of a life spent immersed in music, but there’s a dark undercurrent as well…I Hate Music is an album about love more than anything else: love of life, love of living, love of people, and yeah, love of music.”
I Hate Music comes out August 20 via Merge.
