The second trailer of the sixth installment of the Alien franchise has surfaced and leaves little to the imagination.

Five years after Prometheus, Covenant appears to tell the story of a team of scientists waking up from cryogenic sleep to explore the possibility of life on a new planet.

The return of the Xenomorphs is revealed. Based off of this trailer, it looks like we have all the elements of a classic horror film mixed in with this sci-fi tale: the inevitable doom of its characters who make typical mistakes like splitting up, only to get picked off one by one (why do they always split up!).

Hopefully there’s more to this body horror film than meets the trailer — we’ll just have to put our trust in Ridley Scott.
