This boundary-breaking performance fuses video games, theatre, and personal memoir into an explosive spectacle. Sébastien Heins, the ingenious creator and performer, beckons you to join him on an unforgettable journey, pulsating with joy, adrenaline, and raw emotion. But here’s the twist – you hold the power. With cutting-edge motion capture and haptic technology, Heins entrusts you with the controller, empowering you to guide his every move.
Immerse yourself in an intimate and innovative experience that draws inspiration from Heins’ personal story. The piece is inspired by the real-life story of Heins’ mother being diagnosed with Huntington’s Disease, a rare genetic illness. No Save Points is crafted for gamers and theatre-lovers alike, and explores the universal question: “what do we do with the time that we have?”
Heins transforms into a living, breathing video game character right in front of your eyes. A select group of audience members will sit onstage in the “Player’s Pen” where they’ll use a wireless controller to direct Heins’ actions by sending signals to receivers located on his body. As the performance progresses, even more patrons will have their chance to press the buttons and take charge. By the grand finale, the entire audience will unite in controlling the destiny of the show.
