The LCBO and Ontario Cannabis Store have unveiled its first four locations for cannabis retail stores in the province. Toronto’s first identified location is 2480 Gerrard Street East, just east of Victoria Park.
Three additional Ontario locations were identified Wednesday for Guelph, Kingston, and Thunder Bay. More locations are expected to follow over the next several months.
Toronto’s first location currently appears to be a Tim Horton’s store.

More via official release:
“Consistent with provincial guidelines, store locations adhere to municipal zoning by-laws, minimize proximity to primary and secondary schools and consider where illegal storefronts are currently operating. Input received from municipal officials through engagement with the LCBO on local areas of interest was also used to inform the identification of OCS store locations.
“The LCBO is committed to ensuring that OCS sites are responsible partners in the communities they operate in.”
In addition to rolling out the first four store locations, the LCBO and OCS also announced the appointment of Nancy Kennedy to the position of President of the OCS. Kennedy will assume the role of President on April 16, 2018.
The federal government previously set July 1 as the target date for cannabis legalization to take effect. Recent reports have indicated that the date could be delayed.
