Ontario is set to get a new driver’s licence design

The new design replaces one trillium with a repeating pattern of the province's new logo

Looks like Ontario’s about to get new driver’s licences as part of the PC government’s extensive rebranding.

The provincial government unveiled the new design at a press conference at the Mississauga Toyota dealership today. As opposed to one trillium, the new licenses are set to be covered in a repeated pattern of the new trillium logo, with one larger cut out of the image taking the old image’s place.

“We are renewing the licence plate and driver’s licence because it represents how we are renewing our entire approach to government,” Minister of Government and Consumer Services Bill Walker stated during the conference. “Our government is embracing change because we recognize that the old established ways of working are no longer good enough.”
