The jewel of Ontario Place will soon be once again more than just a outdoor attraction.
Ontario Place revealed today plans to reopen the beloved theatre this coming November for events and screenings. The re-opening is all part of a larger plan to revitalize the majority of the old theme park, as outlined by The Globe and Mail.
The Cinesphere was constructed back in 1971, and held the glory of being the world’s first permanent IMAX theatre until it closed in 2011. The theatre was temporarily opened last month for screenings of Chris Nolan’s Dunkirk during TIFF.
The area has seen major improvement with the added Trillium Park and William G. Davis Trail and the Molson Ampitheatre opening this past spring.
