Soggy shoes, astro turf steeped in muddy water, and rain ponchos as far as the eye could see; it’s safe to say that Osheaga 2017 was a wet and wild weekend for music fans and artists.
Although the statement, “What Rain??” might have been a bit over-optimistic considering the thousands of water-logged festival goers, the brief interludes of sunshine were enough to keep spirits high on Day 1. Fortunately, weather conditions improved with each day and the attention turned back to what brought everyone to the little island in the first place: the music.

Highlights from the weekend include Lorde taking the main stage to close of Day 1 with an umbrella, rewarding those who stuck out the extreme weather conditions with an incredible performance. There was PUP, on Day 2, playing to a crowd that broke the barricades in the midst of the excitement, dedicated fans singing back every word of every song to the Toronto based band. Foxygen put on quite a show on Day 3, complete with costume changes and synchronized dance moves that kept the crowd dancing through the entire set.
Countless more moments like these reconciled the loss of much anticipated artists from the festival line up. Headliner Solange, as well as Noname and De La Soul unexpectedly pulled out of the festival just days before. Despite the absences and the not-so-ideal weather conditions, nothing, not even a torrential downpour, could rain on this parade. Osheaga 2017 was a true test of perseverance and a memorable weekend to all of those that attended.
