Parks Canada Will Waive All Entrance Fees in 2017 for Canada’s 150th Birthday

O Canada!

Update (12/15/2016): Parks Canada’s Free passes that get you unlimited access to all of Canada’s National Marine Conservation Areas and National Historic Sites are now available to order online.

Parks Canada will celebrate our home and native land’s big 150 by waiving all entrance fees for the entirety of 2017. How Canadian!

Thanks to our new Liberal government, all Canadians will now have the chance to experience nature’s playground right here in our backyard. Plus, youth and new Canadians will continue to be granted free access through 2018.

What will it costs Park’s Canada? Most of the $670 million annual budget for Parks Canada is funded by the federal government, but other fees like camping, rentals and reservations also generate revenue. Parks Canada is expected to lose close to $60 million for this initiative. Well worth the loss!

*Annual passes bought for 2016 will now be valid for two years
