Pavement play tennis against Tim Heidecker and DJ Douggpound

Pavement recently took part in a pretty fun segment where they played tennis against Tim Heidecker and his Office Hours Live podcast partner DJ Douggpound.

Back in May, Bob Nastanovich accepted a challenged from Tim Heidecker’s Office Hours podcast. Now Pavement’s Stephen Malkmus and Nastanovich took part in the match against Hedecker and DJ Douggpound. The clip features a pretty fun-loving narration from Painting With John‘s John Lurie.

The clip boasts everything from some hilarious unsportsmanlike conduct to a SportsCenter style recap.

During their appearance on Office Hours Live, Pavement’s Stephen Malkmus, Bob Nasatanovich, and Steve West talked about their reunion tour, legacy, and more. In fact, Heidecker and DJ Douggpound even got the band members to rank their albums.

“Let’s get the bad ones out of the way so we can talk about the ones we all like,” Malkmus said.

Pavement recently shared a deluxe edition of Terror Twilight, which features 28 previously unreleased songs. The massive reissue boasts a whopping 45 tracks total. Terror Twilight: Farewell Horizontal features “the remastered original album, B-sides, home demos, rehearsal tapes, era-appropriate live recordings, and even the rough tracks from Pavement’s scrapped session at Sonic Youth’s Echo Canyon studio.”

Not only are there 28 new tunes, but this reissue also restores produced Nigel Godrich’s sequencing of the album. This order brings the darker material to the beginning, with the softer pop tunes at the end.

Tim Heidecker has also been busy readying the release of his new album, High School, which features “Buddy,” “Punch In The Gut,” and his Kurt Vile collab, “Sirens of Titan.”
