Perfume Genius, the Weather Station, Andy Shauf, more to play Halifax Jazz Festival

The Halifax Jazz Festival is set to return this summer, and today they’ve announced the 2022 lineup.

The festival takes place from July 13th to 17th, 2022 across Halifax and Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. This year, it’ll feature some stunning performances from big name acts like Perfume Genius, the Weather Station, Andy Shauf, Half Moon Run, Tank and the Bangas, Aquakultre, and many more.

The Halifax Jazz Festival will welcome over 50 artists this year, performing across a slew of community stages. This year, the festival will return to St. Matthew’s United Church, where the Michael Formanek Drome Trio, Amanda Tosoff, Emilie-Claire Barlow, and Julie Doiron will perform.

Halifax Jazz Festival
 
On July 15th, there will be A Tribute to Jerry Granelli, led by the late jazz drummer and Halifax Jazz Festival co-founder’s son, J. Granelli. The event will also feature Jay Clayton, Jamie Saft, Dani Oore, Alan Syliboy, and more. $5.00 of every ticket sold to that show will be donated to the Jerry Granelli Legacy Fund.

During the festival, the Mellotones will be celebrating 25 years of making music together with a free Main Stage performance alongside Adam Baldwin and some surprise guests.

This year marks the 36th edition of the festival, so get ready for a pretty epic return to Halifax, music lovers!
