Phoebe Bridgers covers Bo Burnham’s ‘That Funny Feeling’ at tour opener

Phoebe Bridgers kicked off her tour on September 3rd, where she covered Bo Burnham’s “That Funny Feeling.”

The track comes from his highly praised comedy special Inside and its accompanying album Inside (The Songs). Burnham and Bridgers performed “That Funny Feeling” together in Los Angeles at the Largo last month. Now, at her tour opener, Bridgers covered the track herself in Chesterfield, Missouri.

The concert marked Bridgers’ first show in almost two years. Bridgers covered “That Funny Feeling” as the encore, and added her own distinctive sound to the soft, melancholic track.

Bo Burnham shocked the world when he released his incredible Netflix comedy special Inside. Though less of traditional stand-up, his first special in five years saw Burnham explore the trials and tribulations of quarantine and modern life, while remaining in the confinement of one room.

Written, filmed, edited and created all by himself, Burnham once again proves his remarkable talent.

The special is brought to life with numerous catchy songs that Burnham plans to release to streaming services. It includes a variety of numbers that tackle feelings of depression and loneliness as well as tracks that cleverly critique our society on topics such as capitalist exploitation and social media.

“That Funny Feeling” sees Bo Burnham singing lines like, “Total disassociation, fully out your mind/ Googling ‘derealization,’ hating what you find.”
