Phoebe Bridgers’ smashed ‘SNL’ guitar is up for auction through GLAAD

After being nominated for the 2021 GLAAD Media Awards

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Media Awards are auctioning off the guitar that Phoebe Bridgers smashed in her iconic Saturday Night Live performance.

Bridgers had slammed her Danelectro guitar against a mock guitar monitor during the performance of her Punished track, “I Know The End.” The trick got some backlash on Twitter, but many fans came back saying that the comments were sexists, as male artists wouldn’t get critiqued for such a stunt. Additionally, Bridgers had purposely used a fake monitor and cheap guitar to do the least damage possible.

Now, bids on the guitar are open until April 11th, and at the time of writing, the auction has reached $8000. You can put in a bid yourself here.

Bridgers was nominated for Outstanding Breakthrough Music Artist at the 2021 GLAAD Media Awards.
