This past weekend marked the 2nd Bestival Toronto – the North American version of the massive four-day UK festival gathering thousands from all over the world! Held at Woodbine Park, Bestival acts included the likes of Tame Impala, The Cure, Grimes, Odesza, Jamie XX and many more. The wonderful mix of live music, DJs and ineffable festival magic, made this year’s Bestival one to remember. If you missed out on #BestivalTO, don’t sweat it – here’s a recap of the Bestival festivities. Enjoy!
12,500 people, 100 vehicles, 40 floats and 3 stages.
80% chance of thunderstorms didn’t stop the #FestivalGods from blessing Toronto with clear skies all weekend.
Daily parades to increase the peace.
And also travelling mariachi bands!
Day of the Dead and Mexican Sugar Skulls were a recurring theme.
Chances to nab cool swag at the Indie88 booth (or some free high fives). #Indie88Summer
You could get hitched in an inflatable church among complete strangers who completely support your life choices.
Like these two cuties!
Okay, well they weren’t REAL marriages. But who wouldn’t want to pretend with a squad like this?
Odesza brought down the house on Saturday.
Jamie XX spinning vinyl / entrancing us.
A young and talented Madeon vibing at The Big Top.
Porter Robinson gave us a serious case of “the feels”.
Tame Impala ended the night with an encore of “Feels Like We Only Go Backwards”. Even more feels.
On Sunday The Wombats got us grooving.
Daughter with a heartbreakingly beautiful performance.
GRIMES slaying away.
Seriously though, she killed it.
The magic-hour lighting made The Cure’s performance look “Just Like Heaven”.
More like: “Sunday, I’m in love”.
Dubfire headlined the Bollywood stage.
We can’t wait for what’s in store for Bestival 2017.
But for now, peace out!
