Based on the upcoming game, Detective Pikachu, a live-action Pokemon movie will finally be made in our lifetime. Legendary Pictures is teaming up with The Pokemon Company to produce the first ever live action Pokemon film.
The news broke when the studio announced the are in negotiations for scriptwriters, currently in talks with: Nicole Perlman, co-writer of Guardians of the Galaxy and the upcoming Captain Marvel along side Alex Hirsch, creator, writer and star of the Emmy Award Winning Disney animated series, Gravity Falls.
Legendary announced the movie will be fast-tracked to start production in 2017 with no note on a release window. This is no doubt Pokemon creators are capitalizing on the reintroduction of Pokemon to the masses through Pokemon Go, but we’ll gladly take it.
