After wrapping up a lengthy tour in support of their latest record Evil Friends, Portugal. The Man is getting back into the studio. On the last LP it was Danger Mouse in charge of production but it looks like they’ve recruited a Beastie Boy for some assistance this time.
Michael “Mike D” Diamond has been working with the band in LA. Bassist Zach Carouthers said: “It’s been amazing… John and I pretty much became friends over the Beastie Boys and so this is a huge deal for us and it’s been so much fun working with him. He’s hilarious.”
When’s the new record going to drop? By the sounds of it, not anytime soon. “I have no idea where we’re at,” notes Zach. “We’ve got a lot of songs, they’re just not done.”
