The two men who drugged and sexually assaulted a 24-year-old woman at College Street Bar in December of 2016 have been sentenced to nine years in prison, The Toronto Star reports. The former College Street establishment owner Gavin MacMillan, 45, and bar manager Enzo DeJesus Carrasco, 34, were found guilty in late 2019 of gang sexual assault and drugging to facilitate a sexual assault.
The pair were sentenced on Wednesday morning. Superior Court Justice Michael Dambrot said the “two predators” carried out a “prolonged, violent, degrading sexual assault.”

The Crown had been seeking a 12-year sentence for both men. The incident was captured on security cameras, but did not have sound.
A jury deliberated for four days before finding MacMillan and Carrasco guilty last year. The jury could not reach an agreement over whether the two men unlawfully confined the woman, or if Carrasco raped her at his apartment the following day.
MacMillan could be released on bail as early as Wednesday due to a pending appeal.
