Production on ‘Friends’ reunion special delayed because of COVID-19

Filming will now begin in May at the earliest

Production on the highly anticipated Friends reunion special has been delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Originally, the special was set to air alongside the launch of WarnerMedia’s new streaming service, HBO Max. Now, Variety has confirmed that the filming of the special has been delayed.

The show was set to film in the next week, but it has now pushed to May at the earliest, as studios across Hollywood have shut down production because of the spread of coronavirus.

The special is set to reunite original cast members Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, and Matt LeBlanc.
