PUP brought out Jeff Rosenstock last night (May 11th) to perform “Waiting” on Late Night With Seth Meyers.
The beloved Canadian punk outfit have been out promoting their new album, THE UNRAVELING OF PUPTHEBAND, when they stopped by Seth Meyers. While PUP have played on Seth Meyers before about three years back, this time they brought out fellow pop-punk artist Jeff Rosenstock.
PUP delivered a jazzier rendition of their single “Waiting,” with Jeff Rosenstock on backup vocals and tambourine. Later in the song, he even played a saxophone solo that is definitely a must-watch. In a hilarious turn of events, Rosenstock wore a PUP shirt while PUP’s Stefan Babcock wore a Shania Twain shirt.

PUP’s fourth album, THE UNRAVELING OF PUPTHEBAND, was recorded in the summer of 2021 with Grammy Award-winning producer Peter Katis. The album sees PUP honing in on their anthemic sound. Channeling fun lyrics and raucous melodies, PUP are ready to explore a more refined sonic territory than ever before. THE UNRAVELING OF PUPTHEBAND features instruments never before heard on a pup song like piano, synths, horns, and more.
“You can hear the band start to fall of the cliff, and because of that, I think this record is our truest and most genuine to date,” Babcock explains. “There is nothing more PUP than a slow and inevitable descent into self-destruction.”
That playful sound definitely translates to their Seth Meyers performance of “Waiting” with Jeff Rosenstock as well.
