PUP has taken to Twitter to announce that they’ll be partnering with a local charity in every city of their forthcoming 2019 tour.
“In every city where we’re headlining a show this year, we are working on partnering with a local charity,” the band wrote in a Tweet. “We’re not doing this for attention,” they continued. “We’re not doing this to try & be performative but simply because we believe it should be the standard for a band like ours.”
So, at the next PUP show you attend, you’ll find representatives from a local charity, such as LGBTQ+ charities, women’s charities, mental health charities, or music education charities, set up near the merch table with literature and a donation box in an attempt to make a positive impact on the local community.
Check out the full announcement thread below.
We've found charities that do work in areas we care about (at-risk youth & LGBTQ+ people, women’s charities, mental health, music education) in order to try & have a sustained impact on the communities we are touring in. We’re not doing this for attention…

We have encouraged these charities to bring literature & a donation box in the hope that, together, we can all make a lasting impact on local communities. This is a work in progress and an ongoing initiative, so please bear with us as we figure out the easiest ways to do this…
