No more sparkly vampire roles for Robert Pattinson. According to Deadline, Pattinson is Warner Bro.’s chosen star to play Batman in the upcoming film The Batman, which will be directed by Matt Reeves.
Pattinson’s casting was rumored earlier in the month, but the casting was made official on Thursday when Pattinson got the role over fellow actor, Nicholas Hoult.
Deadline also reports that Pattinson will be signing on to do three films in the ongoing saga, and that Ben Affleck’s Batman, who was featured in recent Warner productions such as Batman vs. Superman and Justice League, will have no ties to the trilogy.

Reeves’ forthcoming film is intended to take on the storyline of a “noir-driven detective movie” playing up the “world’s greatest detective,” Batman.
“He’s supposed to be the world’s greatest detective, and that’s not necessarily been a part of what the movies have been,” Reeves had said, according to Consequence of Sound. “I’d love this to be one where when we go on that journey of tracking down the criminals and trying to solve a crime, it’s going to allow his character to have an arc so that he can go through a transformation.”
The film is expected to hit theaters on June 25th, 2021.
