Robert Plant and Alison Krauss took to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday night (December 17th) to perform “Searching for My Love.”
“Searching for My Love” comes from Plant and Krauss’ collaborative covers album, Raise the Roof. This track is a cover of Bobby Moore & the Rhythm Aces’ 1966 hit. The Fallon performance follows the duo’s recent NPR Tiny Desk Concert, where they played three tracks live.
The bright, guitar-driven performance stays true to the album version. Plant and Krauss’ beautiful harmonies take the lead atop sweet riffs and deep grooves. Lyrically, they deliver famous lines like, “If I find her you know I will/ I’ll never, never let her go no, no, no, no.”

Krauss and Plant performed “Searching for My Love” during their NPR Tiny Desk performance. In addition to that track, they also covered Lucinda Williams’ “Can’t Let Go” (written by Randy Weeks) and Allen Toussaint’s “Trouble With My Lover,” originally recorded by Betty Harris.
“Searching for My Love,” “Can’t Let Go,” and “Trouble With My lover” all appear on Raise the Roof. That album follows their legendary 2007 covers record Raising Sand. Similar to Raising Sand, T-Bone Burnett produced Raise the Roof. On the album, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss cover tracks by Merle Haggard, The Everly Brothers, Anne Briggs, Allen Toussaint, and more. It boasts an original song co-written by the duo, called “High and Lonesome.”
“One of my favourite parts of this is the songs and songwriters that I had never heard of,” Alison Krauss says. “Working with Robert, and with T Bone, is always a great education in music history.”
