The cast of CBC’s Schitt’s Creek have unveiled a fundraiser to help North American families facing food insecurity situations. “Schitt’s Creek Gives Back” aims to raise $100,000, which will be divided between Food Banks Canada and Feeding America.
“The coronavirus pandemic has impacted us all,” reads a statement on the GoFundMe page. “During this unprecedented crisis, so many are focused on family, health, and security, while many of our neighbors are worrying about their family’s meals.”
Cast members will hit their personal Instagram pages every day at 8 p.m. ET to provide some entertainment while seeking donations from fans in a position to help out.

Every day at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET for the next week, different Schitt’s Creek cast members will be going live on their personal Instagram pages in hopes of providing some brief entertainment and practicing social distancing while raising funds for these two worthy organizations. Whether you’re wanting to donate directly to help those in need, or if you simply just need a brief source of joy in your day, we invite you to tune in!
We will be posting details and tune-in directions for each day’s Instagram Live on our socials the morning of.
Your donation will go to GoFundMe.org and will be evenly distributed between Food Banks Canada and Feeding America. Food Banks Canada and Feeding America will distribute the donations to their networks of food banks across the US and Canada that provide hunger relief to those most directly affected.
The fundraiser has already reached $56,210, as of Wednesday morning. If you’re able to help out and lend some support in the name of one of your favourite television shows, then you know what to do.
