Last night’s 2019 Grammy Awards “In Memoriam” segment is being highly criticized for excluding a number of high profile names.
The segment, which pays tribute to those in the music industry who have died over the last year, honoured Aretha Franklin, Mac Miller, Avicii, Roy Clark, Lynard Skynard guitarist Ed King, rapper Jimmy Wopo, and more.

Several notable names were left out of the tribute including Frightened Rabbit frontman Scott Hutchison, Buzzcocks’ Pete Shelley, Pegi Young, Pantera drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott, and Anticon co-founder Alias. Although these artists were excluded from the video, a handful of them were featured on The Grammys’ website.
According to Variety, XXXTentacion was purposefully left out of the televised tribute because of the domestic violence charges and other controversies he was confronted with before he died.
