See How the CN tower stacks up against the proposed world’s tallest tower

Architects Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill who designed the current reigning tallest building in the world called the Burj Khalifa, are about to top their last project, literally.

The Burj Khalifa in Dubai currently sits comfortably 827.83 meters into the Dubai skyline. That will soon be dwarfed by new proposed tower that will reach a full kilometer in the sky. The Jeddah or Kingdom Tower, will cost $1.23 billion, which is part of a $2.2 billion project to build the entire surrounding Jeddah City in Saudi Arabia. The project has already begun construction and is estimated to be completed in 2018.

To better understand how tall 1 km or 1000 meters actually is, we placed an image of the CN tower (which is 553 meters) against a promotional illustration of the Jeddah Tower. Could you imagine that in the toronto skyline?
