Shamir sings of ‘generational curses, karma, and love’ on new song ‘Reproductive’

Shamir is back with his new single, “Reproductive.”

The track comes from Shamir’s forthcoming album, Heterosexuality, out February 11th via AntiFragile Music. It’s a dreamy tune with stunning instrumentals that let Shamir’s beautiful falsettos truly shine. The accompanying video sees Shamir and his backing band performing “Reproductive” beneath glitchy effects and blue lighting.

“‘Reproductive’ is a song that holds many meanings,” Shamir explains. “It’s not as thematically poignant as most of my other songs. It’s a lyrically dense lament that touches on highly personal grievances such as generational curses, karma, and love.”

Heterosexuality is a personal album that sees Shamir exploring his trauma and identity.

The 10-track album was produced by Strange Ranger’s Isaac Eiger. In addition to “Reproductive,” the album also features previously released tracks “Gay Agenda” and “Cisgender.”
