Montreal-based synth-pop artist Sheenah Ko has just released her sophomore record Future Is Now, out today.
Sheenah Ko is a core member of the beloved Canadian indie-rock band The Besnard Lakes. She has also performed with Bedouin Soundclash and Little Scream.
In 2020, Sheenah Ko released her first solo album Nowhere in Time. The album found a top ten spot on the Canadian Campus Radio Electronic chart. Her music video for “Wrap Me Up” earned a Juno nomination for Best Video. Earlier this year she shared “Wake Up,” the first single and music video from her new record.
“Between my last record and the recording of these new songs, my energy and vibe completely shifted,” she says. “Where my debut record was a bit moody, I very much wanted to focus on the present and being in the moment this time around. I’ve learned a lot of important lessons in the time between records.”
Currently on tour in Greece with The Besnard Lakes, she shared special live piano versions of “Give It All” and “Your Stare”. Both songs are both featured on the new album.
