Producer, singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Richard Swift died Tuesday morning in Tacoma, Washington. Swift was 41 years old.
Just last month, it was announced that Swift had been hospitalized with a “life-threatening condition.” Swift released seven full-length albums between 2005 and 2010. His friend, and collaborator, Dan Auerbach said “Today the world lost one of the most talented musicians I know,” via Instagram.
Swift was a member of the Shins from 2011-to-2016, and he also played bass as a touring member with the Black Keys in 2014. Swift also holds producer credits with artists such as Damien Jurado and Foxygen.
