While out on her US headlining tour, Snail Mail has covered Muse’s “Starlight.”
Snail Mail is out on a North American tour in support of her sophomore album, Valentine, and she made a stop at Rhode Island’s Fête Music Hall on August 12th. During the set, she played a cover of Muse’s 2006 Black Holes and Revelations track, “Starlight.”
“Fuck it, Muse,” Snail Mail said at the end of the cover.

Snail Mail’s over of “Starlight” stays pretty true to the original, as she delivered lines like, “Far away/ This ship is taking me far away/ Far away from the memories/ Of the people who care if I live or die.”
Snail Mail has been no stranger to covers as of late. In June, she covered Superdrag’s “Feeling Like I Do” for Spotify Singles. On the cover, Snail Mail offers up her own take on the band’s 2002 Last Call For Vitriol track. Snail Mail’s cover revolves around gritty guitars, powerhouse percussion, and slack rocker vocal lines. In addition to her cover of “Feeling Like I Do,” Snail Mail has also offered up a new rendition of her Valentine track, “Headlock.”
In addition to the “Starlight” and “Feeling Like I Do” covers, Snail Mail recently performed Smashing Pumpkins’ “Tonight, Tonight” live. Snail Mail’s rendition of the Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness track stays quite true to the original, with uplifting melodies and anthemic vocal lines.
