Soccer Mommy wants to ‘become better for someone’ on new single ‘Bones’

Soccer Mommy has returned with a video for her new single, “Bones.”

The track comes from her forthcoming full-length album, Sometimes, Forever, out June 24th via Loma Vista Recordings. “Bones” was originally written for a rom com, but Soccer Mommy decided not to submit it for the film and to keep it for the album instead. The track revolves around 90s-grunge sounds as Soccer Mommy sings of wanting to change in a relationship.

“‘Bones’ is a song about struggling with the parts of yourself that you don’t like in a relationship,” Sophie Allison explains. “It’s about wanting to become better for someone and feeling like you’re standing in your own way.”

Watch the video for “Bones” below.

Directed by Alex Ross Perry, the gloomy, brooding video follows a close-up of Soccer Mommy performing along to the tune with her backing band. As the track progresses, the video moves into nostalgic shots of Soccer Mommy making her way through a graveyard.

Sometimes, Forever was produced by Oneohtrix Point Never’s Daniel Lopatin. Serving as the follow-up to Color Theory, the album sees Soccer Mommy cementing her signature sound. Drawing on the past with a modern experimental twist, this album is sure to be packed with some melancholic anthems.

In addition to “Bones,” Somtimes, Forever features previously released singles “Shotgun” and “Unholy Affliction.”
