Spoon’s Britt Daniel finds himself in an old Hollywood Western in video for new track ‘Wild’

Spoon have shared a black-and-white video for their new track, “Wild.”

“Wild” is set to appear on their forthcoming album, Lucifer On The Sofa, out February 11th via Matador. On the new single, frontman Britt Daniel delivers deep grunts and croons atop slowly building instrumentals. Today’s release is a huge rock song that doesn’t feel confined to the restrictions of the genre.

The anthemic track comes accompanied by a cinematic video. Directed by Brook Linder and Ben Chappell, the video sees Daniel in a sort of old Hollywood Western. He makes his way through cinematic, flickering desert landscapes as he sings along to “Wild.”

Watch the video for “Wild” below.

Lucifer On The Sofa was recorded in Spoon’s hometown Austin, Texas. On the record, the band channels their live energy. It’s an intense, yet intimate collection, bottling the physical thrill of a band ripping through a performance.

“It’s the sound of classic rock as written by a guy who never did get Eric Clapton,” frontman Britt Daniel explains.

In addition to “Wild,” Lucifer On The Sofa also features their previously released single, “The Hardest Cut.” Spoon also recently covered David Bowie’s “I Can’t Give Everything Away,” but that track doesn’t appear on the album.

Spoon and Mark Rankin (Adele, Queens of the Stone Age) co-produced Lucifer on the Sofa. The album also boasts contributions from Dave Fridmann and Justin Raisen. Edel Rodriguez created the captivating artwork.
