This morning, Spotify pulled a prank on a bunch of their users by replacing their automatically generated “Discover Weekly” playlists with “Discocover Weekly” playlists instead for April Fool’s Day.
The entire playlist was composed of disco covers such as Taylor Swift’s rendition of “September,” Lizzo’s cover of “Stayin’ Alive,” The Fall’s rendition of “Lost in Music,” and Babe’s in Toyland’s cover of “We Are Family.” The interesting thing is that each playlist was still individually tailored to each user’s likes, so you probably got some covers from artists you regularly listen to.
