Comic book legend Stan Lee tragically passed away yesterday at age 95, but before his death he had already filmed cameos in upcoming films like the yet-to-be-titled fourth Avengers film.
Aside from his renowned work in comics, Lee also was essential in developing the Marvel Cinematic Universe to the point that he regularly made cameos in the films. Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, has now hinted that Lee may have already filmed several cameos prior to his death according to Variety.
No one has had more of an impact on my career and everything we do at Marvel Studios than Stan Lee. Stan leaves an extraordinary legacy that will outlive us all. Our thoughts are with his daughter, his family, and his millions of fans. #ThankYouStan #Excelsior!

“I’m not going to tell you what [cameos] specifically,” Feige explained. “But Stan always appreciated a good surprise.” Since then, ScreenRant reported that director Joe Russo and Lee’s agent have both confirmed that the comic book legend had already filmed a cameo in Avengers 4 and Captain Marvel.
Marvel had been purposefully shooting Lee’s cameos in groups before his passing, so it seems as though further appearances could potentially surface in the coming years in films like Spider-Man: Far From Home, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, and the upcoming X-Men films Dark Phoenix and New Mutants.
