‘Star Wars’ Fans launch petition to get the ‘Game of Thrones’ creators fired

Angry fans have taken to the internet because petitions always work so well... right?

After the viral campaign of over 1 million angry Game of Thrones fans trying to get HBO to remake the show’s final season, angry Star Wars fans are now expressing their own concern. The GoT creators, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, were behind the final season of the show, and earlier this month Disney confirmed that the duo would be writing and directing a new Star Wars film set to arrive December 16th, 2022.

The newly launched petition is called “Don’t Ruin Star Wars With GOT Showrunners!” and is addressed to the Walt Disney Company chairman Bob Iger. As of now, the petition has over 10,000 supporters.

Check out the official message of the petition below.

Like many Game Of Thrones fans, I was dismayed at how the last season was written – it felt rushed and sloppy. But now I’m really worried because I just learned that the next Star Wars movie will be made by the same people.

Please sign my petition if you don’t want the next Star Wars movie to be ruined like the final season of Game of Thrones!

D. B. Weiss and David Benioff were announced as the creators of the upcoming Star Wars movie in 2022. But Star Wars is more than a popular movie. For many, it’s a childhood and lifelong passion. If we allow Weiss and Benioff to create this next film, we are surely in for disappointment.

Like Game of Thrones, Star Wars is only successful because of us – the fans. That’s why we need to raise our voices now, before the film begins and ask Disney to choose someone else to do this movie!

Will you sign on asking for better writers to do the next Star Wars movie?
