Coming off last week’s release of PUP’s This Place Sucks Ass EP, Stefan Babcock has announced a forthcoming “nihilistic kids book for adults” called Rupert Reaper. The PUP frontman’s latest project will ship on November 5th and can be pre-ordered here.
Rupert Reaper is about “a really small grim reaper named Rupert who is very lonely. Every time he makes a friend he accidentally kills them, and that makes him sad,” Babcock said in an email. In addition to announcing his new graphic novel, Babcock also announced plans for his first ever solo livestream, “Stefan’s Lead Singer Ego Trip,” for Sunday, November 1 at 2 p.m. ET.

“During this pandemic, I needed a break from music,” Babcock said of his latest project in a release. “Every song I wrote came out way too dark and it wasn’t healthy. So I found a new, very dumb, very fun medium, into which I could channel all of my existential dread.”
$1 from the purchase of each book will go to Youth Mental Health Canada.
