Subject of Netflix’s Making a Murderer docu-series Steven Avery has tested positive for COVID-19.
On Twitter, Avery’s former lawyer Jerome Buting says that the 57-year-old inmate has been confined to his cell, and is experiencing “short-lived symptoms and is in good spirits.”

Avery is serving a life sentence at Wisconsin’s Waupun Correctional Institution, as he was convicted for the murder of Teresa Halbach in 2007.
Last year, Avery filed an appeal, asking for a new trial, and he is currently awaiting the judge’s decision.
