Toronto R&B artist Charlotte Day Wilson has shared her highly anticipated debut album, ALPHA, via her own imprint, Stone Woman Music.

The new 11-track album is a vulnerable collection of Day Wilson’s inner struggles. The genre-bending album sees her singing of love, growing, and breaking. ALPHA is self-produced, allowing her to truly lean into and establish her own sound. The stunning record never wavers.

ALPHA features some pretty renowned acts, including BADBADNOTGOOD, Mustafa, Syd, and Daniel Caesar. From the moment the album opens with “Strangers,” you’re sure to be captivated. “Wish It Was Easy” is definitely a standout, with devastating lyrics that will just rip your heart out.

ALPHA boasts previously released singles “Mountains,” “Take Care Of You (feat. Syd),” “If I Could,” and “Keep Moving.”

“If I Could” is a powerful ballad that has minimal instrumental line. The track allows Wilson’s stunning vocals to truly shine as it builds. Charlotte Day Wilson offers up some vulnerable lyrics. Ultimately, she delivers lines like, “Oh oh I bathed you/ Washed you off the seas that break you/ Rid you off the burden and you’d be free.”

The album is a “journey of metaphor and earnest declarations, recollecting Charlotte’s inner struggles of love, growing, and breaking that she’s finally speaking to in a greater way,” according to a press release.
