It’s not everyday that our favourite Scottish synth-pop band from Glasgow drops an album – so when it does happen, we’re pretty excited about it. This year CHVRCHES returned with their third studio album, Love is Dead. It’s an album that amplifies the bands original sound and launches it into new dimensions, taking synth-pop to an all new level. The record holds 13 tracks, one of which includes Matt Berninger of The National, entitled “My Enemy”
With hits like “Get Out” and ‘Graffiti’ this album will have you feeling elevated yet still grasping the gloom of it’s narrative, as frontwoman Lauren Mayberry states in an interview, “A lot [of the album] is about grappling with what’s going on in the world, but also what happens in your lives simultaneously,” and further confirms that the album is more complex than its first implications, “It’s about frustration, but figuring out a way to be able to feel like that and move on.”
