Stream: Gorillaz Share New Album ‘The Now Now’

New album follows 2017's Humanz

UK-based animated rock/dance/r&b group Gorillaz have released their new record The Now Now.

After taking some time off between 2010’s Plastic Beach and 2017’s Humanz, Gorillaz Damon Albarn got right back to work to start putting together more songs for an entirely new full-length record that culminated in the release of The Now Now.

If we could group their albums together, The Now Now aligns more closely with their famed 2005 album Demon Days; dancey electronica with electronic drums and mostly relying on animated singer 2-D’s vocals (Damon Albarn).

The Now Now relies less on features than Humanz, that had a guest artist on nearly every track. Although he enlists some heavy-hitters such as longtime collaborator Snoop Dogg on “Hollywood” and guitar legend George Benson on the opening track “Humility”, The Now Now is very much a Gorillaz-centered album.
