Stream: LCD Soundsystem releases live studio album ‘Electric Lady Sessions’

Featuring covers, reimaginings, and some new tunes

Today, legendary indie band LCD Soundsystem have released Electric Lady Sessions, a live studio album composed of reimaginings of their own tracks in addition to the occasional cover.

“It has some old songs and some new songs, and a couple of covers from Sheffield bands (this wasn’t intentional, but it just worked out that way. We’re not moving to Sheffield),” James Murphy wrote in a note to fans, according to Stereogum. “Nancy sings on one, and Al and I do our best Phil Oakey impressions on another.” The album features covers of “(We Don’t Need This) Fascist Groove Thang” and The Human League’s “Seconds,” in addition to tracks like “american dream,” “get innocuous,” and “oh baby.”
