Stream: METZ New Record ‘Strange Peace’

'Strange Peace' streaming ahead of next week release

Toronto’s METZ are streaming their much-anticipated third album ahead of its release next week.

In the short time since this three-piece hardcore group debuted back in 2012 they’ve been met with critical acclaim and praise from audiences worldwide. Now they are prepping to unleash their third record Strange Peace, which they call “an emphatic but artful hammer swing to the status quo.”

Strange Peace was recorded in Chicago, and had the band exploring unfamiliar territory by recording to tape.

“Recording in Chicago was a blast. We tracked fourteen songs in four days. It was the first time we felt confident enough to just play live and roll tape.” the group wrote in a press release. “Strange Peace is much more diverse and varied than anything we’ve done before, which was exhilarating, but terrifying, too. We took the tapes home to Toronto feeling like we’d made the record we wanted to make.”

Take a listen to the new album in its entirety over at CBC before the release September 22 via Royal Mountain Records.
