In 2009, Toronto settlers Frank Guidoccio, David Tysowski, Chris Greenough and Kyle Wilson came together to create the high energy quartet, The Order of Good Cheer. Not long after forming, the group got right into the recording process and released a boozey, BBQ sauce-soaked 70s rock influenced double EP Tanto Monta~Monta Tanto.
The EP got the band loyal listeners throughout the city and placed them on the same bill as acts like PUP, Kevin Drew, Brendan Canning, Hollerado and Arkells. Fast forward to 2014, ‘the Cheer’ are ready to share more new material; their self-titled sophomore album will see its release on June 10 via Dine Alone. It’s 10 tracks that divert themselves away from their country-booze-rock origins and focus on a more classic rock sound. The Cheer have a few special guests for you to enjoy on the album as well, including Serena Ryder and The Weakerthans’ Rusty Matyas.
